Hotel Review : So Sofitel Hua Hin Thailand

A quick get away from the City of Bangkok for us!!! Well not really because it took us over 4 hrs during the heavy holiday season… but was it worth the drive??? 4 Days and 3 nights!?!?! Absolutely!

Arrival : Perfect and on point. The people who greeted us knew exactly who we were and knew that we had loyalty with Accor. Right when we arrived at the hotel lobby / car drop off area staff was very attentive and helped carry all of our bags immediately. Reception was great and greeted us with smiles and a beautiful welcome drink and snacks! What’s even more impressive is that the duty manager K.ohm walked us to our room and showed us around the hotel [this is a standard at this hotel and they do this every single time that we have visited this hotel.]

Room : We stayed this time in the So Studio Room which was already a large well modern decorated room! Our room was provided with a Baby cot and children amentities for our two year old daughter. The room had a large flat screen TV, Coffee Machine, nice working space, large bed, and beautiful decorated art around the room. What stood out the most was the large bathroom that had a his/her sink, unique open rain shower, and large bathtub! If you’re into modern design with a boutique feel you’ll love the rooms here!

Pool: They have two pools here one which is located in the center of the hotel which allows only for adults and another one near the beach area. Both pools are differently designed but well serve great purpose. Both pools also have shallow areas to just sit and hang or for children to play in. The only thing about both pools is that looking briefly you won’t notice anything but when you’re in it you’ll notice immediately that the pool is in need for some repairing and renovation as a lot of the tiles in the pool are falling apart and we witnessed a girl get injured with cut because of this.

The cool thing about the pools here is that they also provide inflatable floats which will give you great instagram opportunities 🙂

Activities:
Lots of things that this resort organizes from kids activities to Yoga and water aerobics! Filled with schedules with something for everyone!

Gym :
A bit small but serves it’s purpose dumbbells, treadmill, elliptical. Probably can take at most 4 people at a time because it really does get crowded. If anything I’d recommend them expanding the room a bit as people now a days do love working out yes… even on holidays.

Spa :
Went here for a 60 minute massage and it was amazing! The technique, the decoration, and the atmosphere absolutely stunning !

Dining :
White Oven: serves breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. It’s more of your typical hotel dining experience but I do have to say that their breakfast selection is really good with quality. They do a great Eggs Benedict here and if you want Ice cream for breakfast they have it. Selection of lunch and dinner might be a bit more limited here and can get very busy during the holidays

Beach Society : This is where it’s at a cool open air atmosphere by the beach! Serving drinks, lunch and dinner. The food quality here is a lot better than White Oven and I feel like a different more gourmet selection … if anything the Pizza here is really good [different from White Oven]. I’d highly recommend that if you want dinner at the hotel to come here!

Check Out :
Went without a hitch at all! And plus water and cookies for the drive home too! Wow! All I can say is superb, fast and efficient!

Pros:
Service is what to highlight at this place they treat you extremely well and are always very considerate on the little things like helping you carry stuff, brining and umbrella, or just airing in my inflatable float everyday!

Cons
The hotel pool is starting to show signs of need for renovation…. Especially the tiles in the pool are falling apart… like I said a few people got injured while we were there

Conclusion:
This is a fantastic place to stay in Cha-Am Hua Hin. It’s a good place for both groups of friends or family. I highly recommend coming here especially on the first weekend of the month to catch their beach party! [That is of course you are coming with friends 😉 ] Location wise the hotel is a bit far from Hua Hin Town but there are lots of things to do nearby but you will need a car/transportation.

NOTE : The hotel is going to be opening up a whole new section with a Kids Club, 30+ New rooms, 3 More Pool Villas, and a new bigger swimming pool!!! So if you’re staying around September 2018… you should check that out!!! Can’t wait to come back again!

Special Thanks to K. Ohm and K. Noon for taking great care of us during our stay!
